In October, Bill finished a book for Pearson on Brilliant Study Skills which will appear next year. In March, he will be releasing a short story, Love Hurts, in the anthology Best British Crime Stories, vol. 7. Following that, in May Bill will be releasing his historical crime novel, The Figurehead, published by Virtual Tales.
If that wasn’t enough, Bill has a black comedy (a spoof of the spy thriller genre) coming up that will be published in the USA by Accidental Books – date still to be decided for this one but sooner rather than later!
Remember that you can follow what is going on with Bill at his own website at http://www.bill-kirton.co.uk/ as well as here on the Maybe Tomorrow website.
Below is an excerpt from “Gone, But Not Forgotten” by J.F. Juzwik.
“He knew the woman was dead before she hit the ground. Even though her throat had been deeply slashed, the amount of blood still surprised and sickened him. As he watched her fall, he realized he too was being watched. He turned and ran from the darkened alleyway onto the busy thoroughfare, narrowly avoiding the oncoming traffic. Horns blared, brakes squealed, but he found safe harbor in an unlocked delivery entrance to one of the many downtown food suppliers’ warehouses. He glanced quickly through a crack in the door, and saw he had not been followed. No one would know that it was he in the alley. He took his handkerchief from his shirt pocket, wiped his face and blotted his shirt and pants to remove the blood that had splattered when she was first cut. Perhaps he should just walk home instead of taking the transit; less noticeable that way. He put his handkerchief back in his pocket so he could discard it at home; leaving it here would only bring disaster to his doorstep. They would be on him within the hour because of the DNA. He decided he would wait a few more minutes before he ventured back out on the street. He reached for his wallet to see if he had enough coins for a coffee from one of the sidewalk dispensers, but found his pants pocket was torn and his wallet was nowhere to be found. He frantically turned all his pockets inside out, but knew exactly what had happened. When he had turned to run down the alley, he had run into a pipe sticking out of the wall and got his suit caught up on it. When he had pulled to free himself, the pocket had torn and his wallet had fallen out. His wallet, with his identi-card inside, that contained his name, address, photo, fingerprints, DNA strip… Now, there would be no just walking away.”
From J.F. Juzwik author of “Gone, But Not Forgotten”;
I have had a crime fiction novel published by DiskUsPublishing and a horror short published in the anthology, Deathgrip: The Legacy. My crime shorts have appeared in the webzines Crooked and A Twist of Noir. I am currently working on two crime shorts and completing the manuscript of my second crime fiction novel. In process is also my YA chapter book series entitled Choices, which will be released by the end of this year or early next year by DiskUsPublishing. I am a member of several writers’ networks and maintain a blog for both writers and readers at jfjuzwik.blogspot.com and information on all my projects can be found on my website at jfjuzwik.webs.com.

I’m mid-way through writing the series of short stories kicked off by The Gardener – the series is titled “The Tales of the Stones” and covers a number of characters across an expanse of space and time. Among these characters are Taku and Argarrai, the two Gardeners that we will meet in this first story as part of the Maybe Tomorrow anthology.
Each story is consumable on its own or as part of the greater collection. Most likely I’ll shoot for the individual stories and the whole collection to be released in e-book form and just the whole collection in good old fashioned, printed on paper book type things!

Byline:
The great wars of the future are over. A society obsessed with
violence is born. John Hollis questions life in a world where death is
mandated by The State.
About the Author:
S.C. Hayden’s fiction has appeared in a number of magazines and
journals throughout the English speaking world. His first novel, a
social satire titled “American Idol” is slated for publication with
Mythica Publishing. He is currently at work on a collection of short
fiction.
Excerpt:
Dayton Death’s Inc. provided every violent death imaginable. You could
be lynched, hung, drawn and quartered, guillotined, buried alive,
stoned, set on fire, or ground into sausage. They also provided, for
those who could afford it, some of the most spectacular deaths in the
industry. Dayton aired a television series, Deathstyles of the Rich
and Famous, dedicated to showcasing the most expensive celebrity End
Day events in The State. Just that past week, Country Music sensation
Jeb Reynolds was wrapped in designer fireworks and shot two hundred
feet into the air from the mouth of a canon. He exploded over the
North Pacific Ocean in an array of brilliant sunbursts and smoky
contrails. Crimsons saffrons and cerulean blues flashed magnificently
in the evening sky, as his hit single, No State Like My State, played
at deafening decibels. With the last explosion, the flares converged
and formed an image of the music legend’s face. The glowing bust hung
for a moment in the sky, then dissipated in nebulous smoky haze.
My story Journey to Nowhere reminds me of how I feel sometimes when my days and nights just blend in and how I feel taking care of my family’s situation with my mom and I actually get to never go on vacation and go nowhere.
I am currently working on another story called Disappearance dealing with three women who wind up captives of this same demonic person in my story but in a different time period.
My story, DEATHLESS has inspired me to write another dark-themed short story which I am pleased to say will be appearing in another sci fi anthology..
But I have also been inspired to undertake writing a sci fi novel that I have just completed..Thinking about the future and what a nightmare it could turn into greatly affected my thinking! My novel, DESTINED is a dark-themed story of a future damaged earth wherein nothing is taken for granted and the one goal all beings have is to just survive.
